"I have stayed in several different hotels in Barbados in a period of over 30 years. I'm afraid The Sandpiper wins hands down! In terms of dining, the hotel offers complete flexibility - you can decide whether or not to eat in the restaurant without pre-booking; or you can walk out to one of the many restaurants in nearby Holetown (The Sitar Indian is particularly good). The Sandpiper has an excellent 20m swimming pool, ideal for people like us who swim as a form of exercise; there is a smaller pool for children/families. Above all The Sandpiper has a friendly and enthusiastic team; everyone went out of their way to be helpful. No wonder most of the people staying here are on their 3rd, 4th or maybe even 10th visit! I will be back."

I would be on a plane there now if I could be. One morning I arrived at breakfast to find an invitation from the hotel for a cocktail hour that evening, on the house. Truly generous hosts.
