"We had a truly great stay at Vila Davor, Turistička 8- Peštani. The location is phenomenal, at least in our case with small children, because the apartment is less than 10 meters from the private beach with sunbeds. In same house there is a beach bar and kayak and sup board rental. There is a supermarket and several restaurants of national cuisine nearby. As for sightseeing, the entire area around the lake and the Galicica National Park are a 15-20 minute drive away. The host is pleasant and ready to help in any way that would make the stay more pleasant (cheers Mishko). The house is a little bit older, but the apartment is clean and tidy. The kitchen is shared and with basic things as it is noted in the offer so that is not a complaint. It is a bit more difficult to park if you have a large vehicle, but the host can find you a safe and large parking lot in the immediate vicinity. And the biggest plus at least for us- they are pet friendly."

"J’ai été vraiment extrêmement ravi par les deux hôtes de cette guesthouse. À mon arrivée, malgré un vol avec deux heures de retard, le monsieur m’a attendu jusqu’à presque minuit et était très réactif sur WhatsApp, avec un anglais parfait. À mon arrivée, il m’a montré toutes les pièces et m’a accueilli chaleureusement. Le lendemain, j’ai rencontré son épouse qui a procédé au checkout et qui m’a donné de super conseils sur les visites à faire dans la région. Honnêtement, je recommande totalement cette adresse : le rapport qualité-prix est excellent, tout est moderne, propre, avec une grande cuisine et même une machine à laver. C’est vraiment une super trouvaille pour un séjour dans la région !"

La vue sur la mer est magnifique, Il faut prendre la voiture pour aller à la plage.

Nombreuses coupures d’eau et d’électricité dans le quartier (mais dans d’autres quartiers également). Beaucoup de moustiques, mais c’est également le cas ailleurs sur l’île.

Leider ist die Unterkunft nicht komplett zentral und die Bettwäsche hat etwas komisch gerochen. Ansonsten war aber alles super!

"L'endroit était magnifique, l'hôte Valentina a pris le temps de nous faire visiter le jardin et de discuter avec nous, elle est super souriante, attentionnée, et intéressante. Les produits du jardin étaient délicieux, ainsi que la confiture et le miel maison. La guesthouse se trouve juste à l'entrée de la route qui mène aux gorges et à proximité de nombreux petits magasins."

"Absolutely wonderful stay. The place was spotless, and everything was clearly very well cared for. Everyone was kind, welcoming, and genuinely helpful, which made the stay even more pleasant. It was quiet and peaceful, perfect for resting, yet the location was excellent and very convenient. The room layout was very practical and thoughtfully designed, making it easy to feel comfortable right away. The internet was extremely fast and reliable. The bathroom was a real highlight — a fantastic shower with both a rain shower and a movable shower head, and the water pressure was excellent. The host was friendly, attentive, and very responsive to any questions. I would happily stay here again and highly recommend this place."

"This was our second stay, but in the bigger villa. There is plenty of space for everyone to spread out and relax. Having everything we needed right there was super convenient. Definitely made the whole trip smoother and more enjoyable. Can't wait to come back again sometime."

"Top, la maison est spacieuse ainsi que la chambre. Tout est propre ! Petit déjeuner très bon avec des produits et spécialités locales. Très bien situer, sur le village flottant, quand on prend le bateau depuis la maison cela mets 30s pour rejoindre la côte et être directement dans le centre ville avec tous les commerces."

L’arrivée et le départ avec les bagages, il faut prendre le bateau (1$/ pers / trajet), ce sont des petits bateaux ils faut faire attention quand on monte dessus avec nos bagages.

We had a couple dead cockroaches in the place that wasn't our favorite. We also had a line of fire ants on the wall in the master bedroom. There were also a lot of cockroaches outside of the apartment and one ended up getting into our vehicle which the kids didn't like

"Elvis and Claudia are wonderful hosts. Helping you out with their local knowledge, lifts to different places in Georgetown and advice on what to do. The rooms come with a very quiet AC and a comfortable bed. The area is safe and a local store is less than 5 minutes walk away. The rooms were spotless and the breakfast of scrambled eggs with toast was just what I wanted. While they advertised a check-in and out time they are very flexible. Free Tea and coffee was supplied in the dining room."

"A true homestay with warm hospitality and amazing facilities at the 7th floor. Located close to a MRT station, restaurants, shops and several green recreational areas."

For me, having visited the Singapore tourism highlights on a previous visit, it was not an issue at all, but good to be aware that those highlights take a bit of time to get to. Also good to be aware you are welcomed into an actual home while the owners are living there. It's part of the charm.

There were 2 ladies at the reception - one of them was exceptionally kind, the other one was passive aggressive and rude (I only talked to her on the phone).

"If you are more a visitor then a tourist, if you like exploring and going further when comfortable tourism ends, this place is for you. The authenticity, genuine friendliness and welcoming hearts of the people of the community made this stay incredibly unique and one of the best experiences of my life. When staying here one can get closer to locals, animals, cultural sights, traditions, local way of life, nature and the PNG culture in general then in any other accommodation. The PNGFE made my stay very comfortable and made me experience local life and the raw nature of PNG!!"
