"Les chambres sont confortables et le personnel au petit soin et à l'écoute. L'hôtel est bien situé dans le quartier de Thamel et à 20 min à pied de Durbar Square. Tous les repas sont très corrects et la terrasse sur le toit très agréable."

"Hôtel idéalement situé dans le quartier de Thamel, personnel attentionné et très sympathique. Les chambres sont calmes, propres et bien équipées (climatisation, réfrigérateur,...) Il y a également un agréable rooftop bar restaurant avec une jolie vue sur Katmandou. Bon rapport qualité prix."

"The receptionist (Riya) was super friendly all time, helping with the taxi, washing machine, etc. The breakfast was good and the rooms big and tidy. It's well located in Thamel, just on the border but better for having less noise."
"There's a worker (seems to be the manager) in the breakfast room that is all day with the phone with loud tik tok videos and from time to time come to ask you about the breakfast. All the workers in the hotel were quite friendly, but this one was kind of annoying."
"In 5 visits to Kathmandu in the past 9 years I have looked for a really good hotel at a reasonable price. While I was here in 2024 I checked out a lot of hotels. Hotel Simal was my choice. I was fully satisfied and have returned this year. Hotel Simal is clean and modern with good sized rooms and a very good range of facilities for Kathmandu - such as a/c room fridge, room safe, balcony with light, electric kettle, even scales in the foyer to weigh your luggage. Beds are large and comfortable. Staff are very friendly and helpful from doormen to reception staff to the manager and even the owners. Roof top cafe view is superb. Location at the edge of Thamel is super convenient but also much quieter than the middle of Thamel."

"The room was a good size and the beds were very comfortable. We liked our little balcony. (Room401) Great location in the heart of Thamel The staff was friendly and the guy in the restaurant even made up a packed breakfast in the morning for us. Breakfast is a buffet and was plentiful maybe a bit limited of you are fussy but good enough for us. I was able to borrow a hair dryer from reception."

"What a brilliant hotel just outside of the centre of Thamel. The staff are absolutely brilliant and Nabraj was so kind and helpful during my stay. It can be a little loud at times but that’s because of the location. It didn’t bother me at all though! Thank you to all at Hotel Simal!"

"Was close to the bus stop. We took a bus to Pokhara, and it was just a 5 minute walk from the hotel. So the hotel was ideal for the one night stay."
"Bathroom design. Shower area could have a partition, we do not like water flowing all of the the bathroom after shower."
