Gingerbread Suites

"This IS the spot to stay on Bequia, literally a few minutes walk from the ferry from St Vincent, on flat ground! (This is a hilly island!) Despite the close proximity to the tiny port, the water in front of the hotel is crystal clear and not too deep, perfect for regular refreshing swims literally a minute away from the room. There are neighbouring restaurants and bars - also on the waterfront which are very practical - only being very low season during our stay we weren’t able to experience as most were closed. This made for a very peaceful, idyllic stay which suited us perfectfully. Thank you Gretel, the manager, for your kindness in upgrading us & offering a late checkout (as availability allowed). Definitely would recommend Gingerbread hotel!"

"We booked 3 rooms for our stay. All were facing the sea and were just gorgeous. Very spacious and just a short walk from the ferry terminal."

"The location was great. Walking distances from the port, restaurants and bars and the beach. Rooms were a nice size with everything we needed as well as a balcony with a view."

"One of the kitchen cupboard doors didn't close properly and the mirror in the bathroom was a little rusty and in need of replacing, but nothing major."

"No Gingerbread cafe on site as advertised on website. Would have been great just to have a buffet breakfast on site for guests. Still there was the self catering kitchenette which in the end was convenient. And I could sit on the verandah and look at the gorgeous view."

"Great location . Wonderful manager who helped us out of every situation and provided us with very useful info. He was lovely and most helpful."

"Cleaning. The cleaner could have done more to ensure it was really clean. When we arrived there were old tissues left on floor. When we asked the manager if we could have it cleaned , then the cleaner came in again and left things spotless."

"Beautiful authentic local hotel, right in the middle of the strip of beaches, with a pier for being picked up by sailboats and swimming."

"Beautiful self contained apartment situation right on the waters edge, a short 5 min walk from the ferry port and lots of restaurants and bars near by."

"There was no AC in our roon and sleeping was difficult. There were fans though."

"Wi-Fi is unreliable. Not sure if that is true for the whole island. Seemed a bit better in restaurants"

"Great room with a fabulous view from the terrace! The room was super clean, with a huge bathroom, convenient kitchen, seating area and a very comfortable bed. The Gingerbread is a very short walk from town, everything on the Belmont Walkway and Princess Margaret Beach. (Almost all of the island is in walking distance, if you like to go for a morning walk before hitting the beach.) The manager and staff were lovely and a joy to interact with. I had a fabulous time!"

"Charming and historic yet modern building. Beautiful seafront garden just a few minutes walk from the center of Bequia. Large sea view room with a well equipped kitchen allowed us to do simple meals and eat on the large lovely balcony. Our charming host did everything to make our visit a success."
