Séjours chez l'habitant au Malawi

"We had a truly great stay at Vila Davor, Turistička 8- Peštani. The location is phenomenal, at least in our case with small children, because the apartment is less than 10 meters from the private beach with sunbeds. In same house there is a beach bar and kayak and sup board rental. There is a supermarket and several restaurants of national cuisine nearby. As for sightseeing, the entire area around the lake and the Galicica National Park are a 15-20 minute drive away. The host is pleasant and ready to help in any way that would make the stay more pleasant (cheers Mishko). The house is a little bit older, but the apartment is clean and tidy. The kitchen is shared and with basic things as it is noted in the offer so that is not a complaint. It is a bit more difficult to park if you have a large vehicle, but the host can find you a safe and large parking lot in the immediate vicinity. And the biggest plus at least for us- they are pet friendly."

Als ik persé iets zou moeten noemen, is het het ontbreken van een kraan en wasbak in het keukenblok. Creatief met afwassen, door vullen van de aanwezige teil met de waterkoker, die je in de badkamer met een kommetje moet vullen, omdat hij niet onder de kraan past 😁 Maar goed, ik vond het zelf gewoon prima zo.

The location is on 28 minute drive from Masjid e Nabawi. Taxi would be costly.

"Very personal stay. The owner is a bee keeper and I loved seeing the bees home. The bees didn't bother me or my dog at all. Close to shops and cafes."

"Très bon rapport qualité prix. Il y a 3/4 chambres avec un salon et une cuisine en commun. Petit déj prévu le matin. Le wifi marche, clim aussi, pas de coupure d'eau ou d'électricité. Quelques petites supérettes à côté de la maison et la plage (quoique sale) est à 500m."

Le quartier n'est pas à proximité du centre ville, mais avec des taxis qui passent de temps en temps on peut y être en 15 mins. Le quartier n'est pas très bien illuminé la nuit

"Chez Fabien on n'a pas l'impression d'être des locataires, mais des amis accueillis à bas ouverts. Fabien veille à tout, à la propreté, au bien être. Il conseille sur les promenades à faire, sur les choses à faire et à voir."

Tout était vraiment parfait. Si nous devons repartir en Guyane nous savons où aller.

"Malaki and his family were great hosts! Very helpful and friendly. Sorted out lots of things for us with no fuss, even though we booked last minute and had limited planning. We had some good laughs! Good view of volcano, and hear the rumbling! Simple and authentic ni-Van accommodation."

Malaki still had a few things to finish... eg switching for solar lights and some plumbing... but we were 2nd guests, so it will be more complete for next guests

When arrive, bed sheets were used. We needed to change them ourselves. No cleaning servise. The mainhouse kitchen was only allowed for small cooking like eggs. If wanted to cook food, needed to go outside kitchen. There was no fan or pots, all needed to take there from main kitchen. Very unconvinient and hot to cook there. We were accused from staff and other customer stealing her mobile. Phone was found in her room where she had put it under her blanket. That really upset us. Owners were nice thou and apologize us.

"That’s amazing studio flat in a very nice hotel. It is sad that is sharing apartment, but you don’t share anything. You have your private bathroom, washing machine, private kitchen, private balcony, the only thing you share is one door to get to your flat. There are food shops and restaurants all around. Tram and bus stops very close. Metro station is about 1 km away, but you can take tram to get there, it takes two stops. Apartment was clean, nice clean white sheets, clean good towel, shampoo and hair conditioner. Security downstairs so you feel absolutely safe. Location is good for taking a walk by the marina to see yachts and a wonderful view to all buildings around. Wi-fi was good."

There is nothing in the kitchen, no spoons, no forks, no cups, no plates, absolutely empty. I had to buy a cup just to make coffee. Had to wait host for 1,5 hour. The main things to see are far away from the property, you need to take metro and ride 10-15 stops to see burj khalifa, the frame, future museum and ect. At least it’s one line. There was bad smell in the kitchen (can’t understand where it was coming from) had to keep balcony’s door open all the time. Very noisy street outside, cars and trams traffic all the time.

We didn't expect that "shared kitchen" means that the host is actually living and sleeping at the kitchen, but as we stayed for one night it was not a problem.

"This is an excellent small guesthouse and the hosts are extremely friendly and helpful. Everything was clean and comfortable. The area is very quiet and Bahir Dar is one of the most beautiful cities in Africa. The hosts, Ashenafi and Habtamu, showed us around and made us feel very welcome."

This is a new guesthouse and they are still getting all the facitilties that a western tourist would expect, but everything important was there including shower, cooking facilities, chairs and tables in the patio and a barbeque!

Cher, il y a des chambres d’hôtels pour mon cher. Mais c’est bien équipé et bien placé. La vraie amélioration serait de goudronner le petit parking privé. Bon, je suis motard et c’est vrai qu’un parking en caillasse, c’est pas top pour les Manœuvres.

Le manque de propreté dans la cuisine, le pommeau de douche qui fuiyait... etc. Un manque global de réparations, il suffirait de peu d'entretiens et de réparations pour que le logement soit bien plus confortable (ampoule à changer, maintien miroir à remettre, pommeaux de douche qui fuit, fond de toilette encrassé, il suffirait juste d'un nettoyant toilette qui évite cela, charnières de l'armoire à resserrer, porte prête à tomber, congel un grand nettoyage...) Message bienveillant pour la suite des futurs locataires

"Le homestay est situé dans un joli jardin fleuri. Le propriétaire (et le personnel) est sympa. Il nous a organisé notre transfert depuis l’aéroport d’HCM ainsi que celui de notre seconde destination. Les chambres sont propres et l’équipement minimaliste mais suffisamment pour un court séjour. Les vélos sont gratuitement mis a disposition et de belles balades sont accessibles facilement."

Il y a actuellement d’importants travaux d’agrandissement. Le jardin est encombré de matériaux et surtout il y a beaucoup de nuisances sonores qui commencent vers 6h30. Seuls dans le homestay, le propriétaire nous a conseillé de manger dans l’hôtel voisin où nous prenions également les petits déjeuners. Le buffet du soir, bien que varié et bon, reste cher comparé à ce qu’on peut manger ailleurs pour le même prix (17€/pers).

"La maison est tenue par une famille Indienne avec 2 enfants. A savoir que la maison, est une maison intelligente qui a deux entrées : une pour les guest et une autre celle de la famille qui est toujours là à notre disposition ainsi que leurs personnels. Donc vous détenez une totale indépendance et aussi vous n'êtes jamais seul. C'est une villa très sécurisée et super propre. Vous pouvez aller de l'avant pour la vente. Bien à vous, Yasmin"
