"The host and hostess were very kind and helped us check in almost close to midnight. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were simple and clean."

Missed an on-site restaurant and had to drive almost six kms away for decent breakfast. The Wifi could be better. The approach road is accessible only by a off roader 4x4.

L'accès au quartier est un peu difficile du fait de l'état de la route. Mais c'est tout à fait gérable, puisque cette distance n'excède pas les 800 mètres

"Très beau condo. Magnifique piscine. À deux pas de la plage. La propriétaire est très efficace et répond rapidement à nos questions."

En juillet, il y avait presque personne et tout était fermé autour. C'est une magnifique place mais un peu désert quand il y a peu de touristes.

La literie n'est pas des plus grandioses et le message d'accueil qu'ils envoient via Whatsapp, est truffé d'extraordinaires fautes d'orthographes.

A bit of coordination initially to get to the property due to the road, but the owner was wonderful at making it easy, and other taxis had no problem getting there after my initial attempt.

"Comfortable and very clean cottage, set in beautiful tropical gardens in a very quiet location around 5 minutes from downtown. Easy to hire a car at a reasonable rate from the hosts. Great pick up and drop off. Very nice pool."

The bathroom is tiny and the shower fitting is loose with limited water flow. But these things did not detract from a great stay.

"The apartment was very nice and clean, its good for self catering as the kitchen is fully furnished, and of the balcony for night and day view if you are indoors 😊."

"We loved the view from our eco friendly and very well appointed self contained place - we could see the sea and were surrounded by trees, flowering plants and birds. We liked being a short walk downhill to the village of Castara with grocery shops, places to eat local food and entertainment. Bars on the beach were very friendly. We loved getting a boat to nearby coves and snorkelling. Paradise for us!"

The fairly stiff walk back from the village is fine as long as you don't rush. The Castara Retreats Restaurant serves lovely fresh fish caught locally but wine as you might expect is eye wateringly expensive. Try Stag beer instead and even that is twice as expensive as in the village.

Le prix un petit peu élevé, des travaux de rafraîchissement sont à prevoir. La piscine partagée avec d'autres locataires moins agréable : On a eu des ados pas très discrets.

"Le jardin, la discrétion et la disponibilité du personnel, la présence d'appareils électroménagers comme la machine à laver, la présence du panier à linge nous fait sentir comme à la maison, le wifi au top et la situation géographique de la maison."

Le climatiseur du salon ne fonctionne pas bien, la peinture défraîchie dans l'une des chambres et au couloir, le manque de couverts (4) alors que nous étions cinq. L'absence de 5 chaises également sur la salle à manger.

"Das Appartement hat eine ausgezeichnete Lage mit Blick auf die Burg von Făgăraș sowie seitlich auf die orthodoxe Kirche. Es liegt sehr zentral und verfügt über einen eigenen Parkplatz, so dass eine Parkplatzsuche nicht notwendig ist. Nahezu direkt unter dem Appartement befinden sich ein ganz kleiner Laden, in dem man das Nötigste (z.B. Getränke) erhält. Ein paar Meter weiter befinden sich eine Apotheke und eine Möglichkeit für Geldwechsel. Auch der Markt für frisches Obst und Gemüse ist nicht weit entfernt. Das Appartement selbst ist wunderschön. Man merkt, dass es gut gepflegt wird! Es ist sauber und ordentlich und die Vermieterin ist jederzeit erreichbar und sehr hilfsbereit, wenn es doch mal Fragen gibt. Wir waren rundum zufrieden und können das Appartement nur weiterempfehlen!"

The only downside was the lack of basic hygiene items like towels and soap. Overall, a great place to stay!

A bit off the beaten path - we were aware of it and it didn't bother us, but be prepared for 1 km or so of dirt road until you get there.
